Look into Lowestoft
Lowestoft is a town on the North Sea coast and is located twenty-two miles south-east of Norwich, home to one of the newest Medusa Juice Vape Shops. Lowestoft is the most easterly settlement of the United Kingdom and the area is historically rich and was once an important port town, although now it’s more of a seaside resort. While the fishing industry there has long since declined, the discovery of crude oil in the North Sea led to a huge boom of commerce in the area.
Flint tools were discovered here in 2005 and we now know that this area has been inhabited for over 700,000 years. Which makes it one of the earliest known settled areas by humans in Britain. Just let that sink in a moment. 700,000 years! Normally I would make a joke about having shoes older than that, but in this case, I can’t even come close. You won’t have far to look for places to visit if you’re interested in the out of doors in Lowestoft, because it is literally laden with them.
First on my list is Africa Alive. Where you can explore the sights and sounds of Africa and discover lions, giraffes, rhinos, and many more animals from the African continent. The spectacular centrepiece is the “Plains of Africa” paddock. It is the perfect place to spot five species of African savannah animals, including the graceful giraffe and heavyweight rhinos. Enjoy a bird’s eye view of the magnificent lions from “Lookout Lodge”, and visit “Lemur Encounters”, which gives you the chance to get incredibly close to the ring-tailed lemurs. Bird lovers can also enjoy spotting native species from the new “Wader’s Lake Boardwalk”. Discover some amazing facts about the animals during the exciting feeding talks and seasonal Bird of Prey displays. Climb aboard the free Safari Road train for an entertaining journey around the Park. The park offers a great outdoor adventure play area, as well as restaurants, free car parking, disabled facilities and a gift shop where you can find souvenirs and gifts. This is a ‘must see’.
Then from there you could try Somerleyton Hall. Somerleyton Hall ,and its extensive gardens, is very much a family home. Dating from Jacobean times, the guided tours of the Hall are first class, explaining the history of the Hall and its owners. The tour covers the ground floor only and seating is available in most rooms. It was a pleasure to be invited into someone’s home to see how the building and its furnishings had evolved over 400 years. The gardens are filled with magnificent trees, many planted in the 17th century; other areas recently loving restored by the owners. The cafe has a limited menu of home cooked snacks and cakes.
From Africa Alive, carry on to Lowestoft Harbour or Gunton Warren Nature Reserve. Both offer lovely walks, and Gunton Warren Nature Reserve features animals as well.
Museums and more
If you enjoy museums, there are plenty here to be visited and in fact, I would highly recommend taking a few days to spend in Lowestoft, because there’s just so much to do. All of which is made even better by having your favourite Medusa Juice Vapes on hand. But fear not, if you run out or just want to see the best Vape shops in England, drive on over to the Norwich store or the King’s Lynn and Peterborough stores if you want a more scenic drive. There’s plenty to enjoy at these shops and you won’t find better deals on e-liquids and equipment anywhere
But back to the museums, you can choose any or all, and they are as follows, The East Anglia Transport Museum, The Lowestoft and East Suffolk Maritime Museum, which has won a certificate of excellence. Then we have the Lowestoft Museum, which is housed inside Broad House, a grade two listed building dating from 1685. Located on the grounds of Nicholas Everitt Park, Lowestoft Museum collects, preserves and displays objects relating to the history of the area and its people, while promoting awareness and interest in the rich heritage.
While making the museum rounds, be sure to stop in to the Royal Naval Patrol Service Museum and The Lowestoft War Memorial Museum. Another point of interest is the Mincarlo Floating Maritime Museum and The Merchant House Gallery.
Some other fun things to do and see in Lowestoft include The Marina Theatre, South Pier, Richardson’s Family Entertainment Centre and Adventure Island Play Park. You can take the kids and turn them loose while you enjoy hitting on one of Medusa Juices signature e-liquids. Try something new or one of your tried and true favourites flavoured Vapes from the shop in Norwich or you can always order online and via Facebook.
If after a full day of touring Lowestoft, you want to unwind and maybe have a drink or half dozen, you have plenty of choices here as well. There’s the Stanford Arms, Iconic Style Bar, The Triangle Tavern and Royal Oak just to name a few. There’s also The Royal Falcon, Escape Club Lounge, The Aquarium Live and The Carlton, The Tudor Rose and The Morning Star. If you can’t find a good time at one of those, then you just aren’t looking hard enough!
Don’t forget to sample some of the local cuisine while there. Some of my personal favourites were The Redherring, Markq, The Jolly Sailors and The Harbour Inn. There’s plenty of places to choose from and no matter what your budget allows, you won’t go away hungry.
So, There’s your guide to some of the oldest and newest things in the Lowestoft area, so what’s stopping you? Get packed and go visiting! Make sure to see Medusa Juice while out and about and say hello to the friendly staff, who are always happy to make new friends.
